This Privacy Policy explains how ScopeBolt (“ScopeBolt,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the ScopeBolt mobile application, website, and related support services (collectively, the “Services”). ScopeBolt is designed for businesses, contractors, and their authorized workers.
1. Information we collect
Account information
We may collect your name, email address, account identifiers, verification status, company membership, assigned role, and authentication or recovery events. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not displayed to ScopeBolt administrators.
Company, customer, job, and workforce records
Information entered into ScopeBolt may include company details, license and bonding information, customer and job-site details, estimates, line items, measurements, notes, assignments, employee profiles, skills, work modes, clock events, hours, handoffs, material locations, and related field records.
Location and route information
When a location feature is used and permission is granted, ScopeBolt may collect precise device location, coordinates associated with a clock event or handoff, location accuracy, timestamps, and paid-drive route points. An employer may require location evidence for clock-in and clock-out workflows. Optional geotagging can otherwise be turned off without preventing general use of the app. Paid-drive route tracking begins only through its designated workflow and displays an active tracking indication.
Device, diagnostic, and support information
We may collect app version, device and operating-system details, crash or performance information, security events, and information you provide in a support request. If you use guided help, we process the question and related app context needed to provide that assistance.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and secure accounts;
- provide estimates, job, crew, time, handoff, notification, and support features;
- apply company roles and permissions;
- record location evidence and paid-drive routes when those workflows are used;
- maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Services;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
- communicate about account, service, privacy, and security matters; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
3. Company access and worker monitoring
ScopeBolt companies control their business workspaces. Authorized owners, executives, foremen, or other assigned roles may view or manage company records according to their permissions. This can include employee profiles, job assignments, clock records, hours, handoffs, and location or route records associated with work.
Employers and company administrators are responsible for providing required workplace notices, obtaining any necessary consent, configuring access appropriately, and using monitoring features in compliance with employment, privacy, labor, transportation, and other applicable laws.
4. When we share information
We may share information:
- with authorized users in your ScopeBolt company;
- with service providers that host, secure, authenticate, analyze, or support the Services, including Google Firebase services;
- when you direct us to share it or connect a third-party service;
- to protect users, the public, ScopeBolt, or our legal rights; or
- when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request.
We do not sell personal information for money.
5. Data storage and retention
Some ScopeBolt records are stored locally on the device, while account and enabled company services may use cloud infrastructure. We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain legitimate business and security records, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes. Company administrators may control certain company records. Backup, audit, fraud-prevention, and legal records may remain for a limited period after deletion.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information, including authenticated access and role-based permissions. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep account credentials private, use device security, and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection regarding personal information. You may change device permissions in Android settings, although disabling a required permission can prevent the associated feature—such as a location-verified clock event—from working.
To request account deletion or exercise a privacy right, email support@getscopebolt.com. We may need to verify your identity and distinguish personal account information from records controlled by your employer or company.
8. Children’s privacy
The Services are intended for business use and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Services.
9. International processing
Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Those locations may have data-protection laws different from the laws where you live.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as ScopeBolt develops. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required by law or when a change materially affects your choices.
